Q: Who do I contact if my power goes out?
A: When the state decided to deregulate the energy market, it allowed for competition in the marketplace. As a
consumer of electricity, you now have the opportunity to choose the provider that best fits your needs. Your choice
determines from whom you receive your customer service and billing. The utility company does not change because they
own the lines, poles and meters. You pay the utility company each month for the use of their lines, poles, and meters.
The number to the utility company in case of outages is on your electricity bill. If you lose power at your facility,
please contact your utility company. RCE works with the companies that “provide” the power, not necessarily the ones
that “deliver” it.
Q: Can I sign up before my contract ends?
A: Yes, you may lock in a rate that is lower than you're currently paying by extending the start date. Many of our providers
allow you to lock in the rate and extend the start date out up to 12 months in advance of your contract end date. When your
current contract ends, you will automatically drop to the new rate without any more work to do on your end. The provider you
choose will take care of the switch and you will receive your final bill with current provider.
Q: What happens if the rates go down while I’m in contract?
A: RCE is constantly watching the market, looking for dips, to help our customers take advantage of lower pricing. This is
part of our value proposition that no single provider will offer. If you are locked into a long term contract and the price drops,
RCE will go to your current provider and negotiate a “Blend and Extend”. The company can offer you an extension to the current
contract and blend the two rates. This allows you to drop your rate immediately without penalty for breaking the current contract
and is a very effective method we often employ.
Q: When will my contract begin?
A: Your contract will start on the day after your current contract ends. In the case of new businesses, the contract will start
as soon as the utility provider receives the company’s Certificate of Occupancy. This is a final inspection by the city to make sure the building is up to code.
Q: Why should I use RCE?
A: There are several reasons our customers choose RCE. By simplifying the process, and making a fair and adaquate assessment of our customer's needs,
it is translated in the providers terms of the contract to earn their buisness. RCE has developed relationships with multiple providers to make
sure our customers receive the best possible terms and conditions; as well as rate per KWH. By becoming aware of any changes to current legislation,
as well as keeping a close watch on changes in EPA restrictions that may cause an increase in cost of production, RCE can help strategically forecast
future market conditions. RCE monitors the market full time so our customers don’t have too, therefore allowing our customer more time to take care of
their business.
